Baghaei sends condolences over death of Azerbaijani consul

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has extended condolences over the road accident that claimed the life of Azerbaijan’s consul in Tabriz.

Axar.az informs, citing APА, spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baghaei said today that the Consular Affairs Department had contacted the Azerbaijani Embassy.

According to him, coordination has been carried out for the transfer of the diplomat’s body.

He noted that they regret the incident.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed that Iran is ready to provide assistance for the implementation of the necessary procedures and the transfer of the body.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan’s consul in the city of Tabriz, Ramil Rza oghlu Imranov, died in a car accident near the Marand settlement on the Julfa-Tabriz highway on May 23 while carrying out his official duties.
