Armenia voids results at two polling stations

Armenia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) has invalidated the results at two polling stations and referred the relevant materials to the prosecutor’s office.

Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, that the decision was adopted at an extraordinary session of the CEC.

One of the polling stations is located in Agarak, Syunik Province, while the other is in Yerevan’s Nubarashen district.

“Military personnel were observed gathering at both polling stations on election day after voting had already ended,” CEC Chairman Vahagn Hovakimyan said during the meeting.

It should be noted that Armenia held parliamentary elections on June 7. According to preliminary results, the Civil Contract Party led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan won the vote.

The Strong Armenia Bloc led by Samvel Karapetyan finished second, while the Armenia Bloc headed by former President Robert Kocharyan came third. All three political forces secured seats in parliament.
