Germany hopes that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will pay an official visit to Berlin this year.

Axar.az reports, citing Repоrt, that German Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ralf Horlemann made the statement during a farewell meeting with journalists.

“President Aliyev has an invitation to Germany. We hope he will visit in the near future. There is no exact date yet, but we expect to host him on an official visit this year,” he said.

He also noted that annual political consultations between the two countries have already taken place this year.

According to him, in 2027, alongside political consultations, the Azerbaijan–Germany high-level working group on trade and investment will continue its work.
