EU readies trade relief for Armenia after Russian import bans

The European Union is preparing emergency trade relief for Armenia to help offset Russian import restrictions, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday, citing people briefed on the plans.

Axar.az informs according to the report, the European Commission is drawing up "autonomous trade measures" that would lower tariffs on Armenian food and agricultural exports.

Around 20 product categories are expected to be covered, with a total annual trade volume estimated at approximately €420 million.

Sources say the proposal could be formally introduced in the coming weeks.
