Syria’s al-Sharaa may attend NATO summit in Ankara

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa may arrive in Ankara around the time the NATO summit is being held there on July 7–8, Bloomberg reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Axar.az informs according to report, the Syrian leader’s visit is not part of the official summit programme, but possible “on the sidelines” meetings could strengthen his international standing.

Some NATO leaders may discuss regional security, counterterrorism, and Syria’s reconstruction with al-Sharaa.
