France protests weaken Macron’s position in Europe

Protests that escalated into riots in France last weekend have weakened President Emmanuel Macron’s position in the European Council.

Axar.az reports, citing Politico, for Macron, the fallout isn’t just domestic … the weekend’s protests further weaken the French president’s position around the European Council table, two diplomats told Playbook. “This just limits his ability to act,” one of them said.

Mass protests were held in Paris and across France on October 17 over rising fuel prices and declining purchasing power.
