Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tuesday that Russia and Iran have never worked so closely.

Axar.az reports that Araghchi made the remarks on X.

“Hosted FM Lavrov for timely talks in Tehran. We covered everything from Europe to West Asia, including Lebanon, Palestine, Ukraine and Yemen. Also focused on expansion of economic and nuclear cooperation. Never in our history have Iran and Russia worked as closely as now,” he said.

It should be noted that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, President Masoud Pezeshkian and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei in Tehran on October 19.

Lavrov announced that Russian specialists would gradually return to the Bushehr nuclear power plant. He also said Moscow was ready to help resolve the dispute between Iran and the United States.

The Russian foreign minister expressed concern over attacks on Iranian and Russian vessels in the Caspian Sea. According to Lavrov, trade between the two countries increased by 21% last year.
