Uzbekistan assumes one-year SCO presidency

Uzbekistan has assumed the rotating presidency of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) for one year.

Axar.az reports, citing local media, that Tajikistan’s Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda announced the transfer while closing the expanded-format SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting in Dushanbe.

“The chairmanship of the Council of Heads of Government is passing to the Republic of Uzbekistan. I wish our Uzbek friends success in carrying out this responsible mission,” he said.
