Iran shootsdown 54th US drone over Strait of Hormuz

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that Iran’s air defense systems have intercepted and destroyed the 54th US MQ-9 drone over the Strait of Hormuz early Tuesday.

Axar.az reports, citing Tasnim News Agency, that according to a statement issued by the IRGC, the drone belonging to the US military was tracked and destroyed in the skies over the Strait of Hormuz by a new advanced air defense system operated by the IRGC Aerospace Force.

The statement said the interception and destruction took place under the control of Iran’s integrated air defense network.
