The United States is seeking to establish a broader European security framework involving Russia to ensure lasting peace and prevent future conflicts.
Axar.az reports that US President Donald Trump's special envoy Jared Kushner announced this in a post on X.
He said Washington was exploring five main goals: permanent security consultations, reliable crisis communications, greater military transparency, reciprocal measures to reduce escalation risks, and an enduring framework for long-term European security and stability.
"Our objective is to develop practical arrangements that address the security concerns of all sides, reduce the risk of future conflict, and create a more stable and predictable security environment," Kushner said.
He stressed that any agreement must respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, adding that "no country would have a veto over another's sovereign choices."
Kushner also emphasised that NATO would remain central to Europe's collective defence.
He announced that the US would host trilateral peace talks with Ukraine and Russia in Abu Dhabi next week, marking the first such discussions since February.
"We will also engage Russia as part of the peace negotiations," he said, adding that Washington hoped to eventually move towards a broader multilateral format involving European partners.
