Russian President Vladimir Putin has lost the support of the majority of Russians since the start of a full-scale war in Ukraine.

Axar.az reports that this was said by Russian political scientist Abbas Galyamov.

"For almost a quarter of a century, Putin controlled the majority of Russians. Now the situation has reached such a point that from 2018 he is losing this majority. According to a 2015 poll by the Public Opinion Research Foundation, Putin's approval rating was 76 percent. As of January 2020, this number dropped to 45 percent. The difference between the numbers 76 and 45 is huge. After January 2020, they stopped announcing the results of the polls in order not to embarrass the people," Galyamov said.
