Direct air link between Azerbaijan and Belgium discussed.

Axar.az reports that this was shared by Samir Rzayev, President of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), on his official X account.

The discussions took place during a meeting between Rzayev and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Azerbaijan, Julien de Frepon.

According to Rzayev, the meeting once again demonstrated that civil aviation is not just about transporting passengers—it also serves as a bridge between cultures, people, and opportunities.

“We spoke about AZAL’s future strategic goals and shared our priorities—sustainable development, passenger satisfaction, and innovation—with our partners. The idea of establishing a direct air connection between Azerbaijan and Belgium was a key topic of our conversation. Such a route would be highly valuable both for business cooperation and cultural exchange,” said the AZAL President.

The meeting also highlighted AZAL’s participation in COP29 and its commitment to a greener future and the aviation industry’s role in achieving it.
