The Ukrainian military attacked some of the largest regions of Russia’s Southern Federal District overnight on September 24.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that administrative buildings at an oil depot in the Kagalnitsky district of Rostov region were damaged by falling drone debris.

Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar said no fire broke out and no one was injured in the incident.

“Drones were also destroyed in the Taganrog and Neklinovsky districts,” he said.

Krasnodar Krai also came under attack. A fire broke out at the site of an enterprise in Dinskoy district after drone debris fell there. The facility was an oil storage depot in the village of Novotitarovskaya.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said it had shot down 40 Ukrainian drones over the regions that came under attack, as well as Bryansk, Belgorod, Kursk and Tver regions and Crimea.

Rostov region is regularly targeted by Ukrainian forces. In September alone, drones struck the local Rostov-on-Don Central military airfield twice. Ukraine’s Security Service said one An-12 aircraft, two An-26 aircraft and three helicopters were destroyed there.

The Taganrog-Central military airfield, the Beriev Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex and the Taganrog Aviation Plant have also been targeted in attacks.
