Russian President Vladimir Putin literally spat on Crimea by ordering it to blow up the Kakhovka HPP.

Axar.az reports that this was said by Russian political scientist and publicist Andrey Piontkovsky.

The political scientist said that Putin's desperate steps show that the Kremlin leader realizes the insignificance of trying to keep Crimea:

"He doesn't care if there will be water in Crimea because he has other issues in mind. The decision to blow up the hydropower plant was made without considering the interests of the Crimeans.

But in any case, he has not given up Crimea yet, because admitting that Crimea was lost by Russia is political suicide."
