Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar warned that Iran has not only ignored global warnings but is doubling down on efforts to acquire nuclear weapons.
Axar.az, citing VOA, reports that he emphasized that Iran’s uranium enrichment levels far exceed civilian needs and clearly indicate military ambitions.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul echoed these concerns, calling Iran’s nuclear program a “direct threat” to Israel’s security. “Iran must never be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons,” he stated, aligning Germany with the positions of the U.S., UK, and France.
Germany reaffirmed its unwavering support for Israel in the face of threats from the Islamic Republic, during a joint press conference between the German and Israeli foreign ministers.
Wadephul further assured that Germany would support Israel, including militarily if necessary, referencing Iran’s drone and missile attacks through proxies like the Houthis.
“Israel has been directly attacked twice by Iran and must be able to defend itself,” he said.
Meanwhile, U.S. Republican Senator Jim Risch warned that if Iran refuses diplomacy, Israel "will act" and emphasized his confidence in Netanyahu’s commitment to prevent Iran’s nuclear armament.
US President Trump also criticized Iran’s delays, saying a “firm response is needed urgently,” while White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt confirmed that a detailed and fair proposal had been sent to Tehran, warning of “serious consequences” if rejected.
