Arab countries secretly support Israel in the conflict with Hamas.
Axar.az reports that it is mentioned in the British "Economist" (The Economist) magazine and the Israeli "Haaretz" newspaper.
It has been claimed that Arab leaders hope Israel will defeat Hamas because they see the radical Palestinian movement as a threat to domestic political stability.
At a recent meeting of more than 50 Arab League and Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) leaders in Riyadh, Iran and other leaders offered to support Hamas, including arms supplies and sanctions against Israel. However, these proposals were rejected.
In addition, Saudi Arabia and other countries have refused to use oil as a weapon against Israel, a departure from the approach taken during the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
