British MPs have warned that the country's armed forces are not ready for high-intensity warfare at a time of growing global instability.
Axar.az reports citing foreign media.
"If the government does not eliminate the shortage of personnel and equipment, the British army will remain poorly prepared. At the same time, there are also personnel problems in the army. The number of people leaving the armed forces is greater than those entering the army," the information says.
Another concern among lawmakers is that the 1.95 billion pounds (2.28 billion euros) earmarked in last year's budget for munitions stockpiles could be used to cover existing resource shortfalls rather than to increase and strengthen the military's capabilities.
