Statements of high-ranking NATO officials that Georgia will become a member of NATO are a bluff.

Axar.az reports that Georgian expert Vaso Kapanadze said this.

"This is a bluff and is designed to deceive the Georgian society. For years, promises have been made that Georgia will supposedly join NATO. Georgia will not join NATO," Kapanadze said.

The political scientist reminded that the declarations that Georgia will become a member of NATO have been heard since April 2008 - the day of the Bucharest summit:

"It reminds me of the promise of marriage to a woman by a man who doesn't want to get married and therefore doesn't give a specific wedding date."

It should be noted that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is on a visit to Tbilisi.
