"This is another shameful page in the history of an organization that vainly tries to call itself the "conscience of Europe", and tries to be the main defender of human rights on the European continent. "Such a line from Strasbourg once again confirms the deep degradation of today's Council of Europe, immersed in political hypocrisy and double standards," he said.

The diplomat emphasized that Russia does not ask for help from the Council of Europe, with which it parted on its initiative for more than two years.

"The failure to respond to the brutal attack on the civilian population raises questions about the Council of Europe's contribution to international stability, the fight against terrorism, extremism and the protection of human rights."
