The reason for the current fragility of security and threatening rhetoric is due to the imbalance of power in the region. We are absolutely sure that a balance of forces should be created in the South Caucasus region.

Axar.az reports that these words were said by Iran's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Mehdi Subhani at the "Vorotan" international expert forum on April 19.

He added that the South Caucasus is one of the strategic regions of the world:

"Its location at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and the Middle East makes the South Caucasus a vital geopolitical center. "Iran is in favor of establishing stability, peace and security in the South Caucasus, because any instability directly affects Iran."
