In autumn 2022, since the Russian army was 2-3 times less in terms of the number of soldiers and equipment, the Ukrainian army went on the offensive. Because the Western countries gave a lot of equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This led to the advantage of Ukraine. Now the Russian army is advancing.

Axar.az reports that Russian political scientist Sergey Markov said these words while commenting on the current situation in the Ukraine-Russia war.

According to him, the successful tactics implemented by the Russian army can result in its advantage:

"The tactics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Russian army are fundamentally different. The Ukrainian army has set 3-4 attack directions. The Americans offered the Ukrainian Armed Forces to concentrate in one direction, in Zaporizhzhia, instead of 2-3. The Russian army is acting differently. They do not have 2-3 directions. The tactics used by the Russian army are described in the "Chinese stratagem" as a thousand small blows. Thus, the Russian army carries out an attack in dozens of directions at the same time. But these are very minor attacks. Thanks to these attacks, the Ukrainian army is weakened. When, as a result of such tactics - a thousand and one small incisions, the defense of Ukraine is scattered in several parts of the front, a qualitative change will occur on the front. And the Russian army can strike harder where it has already succeeded. But no one can predict in which direction the defense will collapse. It also depends on random factors. However, the probability of success of such tactics is highly rated by military analysts. Also, the main problem of the Ukrainian army is the small number of soldiers. There are many soldiers in the Russian army."

Markov notes that Western countries have identified some tactics for Ukraine to win, but they are not entirely sure that it will work:

"Western countries are afraid that the front will collapse. That is why French President Macron came up with the idea of thinking about the deployment of NATO troops on the territory of Ukraine. However, Macron does not propose sending the French army to the front. He suggests that the French army should be stationed in the north, on the border with Belarus, and thereby allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to transfer the forces gathered here from that border to the front. Or replace Ukrainian soldiers in certain tasks, such as mine clearance, in security. Macron proposes to send NATO troops to the Right Bank of Ukraine, in the direction of the Dnieper River. Thus, they signal to Russia that they cannot cross the Dnieper. Because in this case, he will have to enter into military clashes with the NATO army. But they are not sure that they will be able to stop Russia with this."
