Belgium has begun discussions on possible EU trade sanctions against Israel for its actions in the Gaza Strip.

Axar.az reports that this was said by the Prime Minister of Belgium, Alexander de Croo.

According to him, the Belgian government decided to impose trade sanctions against Israel a few weeks ago:

"But if Belgium itself imposes these sanctions, then trade routes will simply change. Therefore, we have been discussing with other European countries how to solve this problem for several weeks. The EU has signed an association agreement with Israel that includes provisions on human rights. We asked Josep Borrell to investigate this matter."
