Every country has the right to self-defense. We see that Azerbaijan is also working in this direction.

Axar.az informs APA that this was stated by James O'Brien, assistant to the United States Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, during a briefing for journalists.

The American diplomat also commented on the concerns of Official Baku regarding France's arming of Armenia:

"We heard news about Armenia buying weapons from France. This is also an indication that there is little trust between the parties, and this is understandable, because there is a 30-year conflict in the middle."

The assistant secretary of state said that the parties are working towards peace and confidence building. He mentioned Armenia's support for Azerbaijan's hosting of COP-29, the release of Armenian detainees, the demarcation process and positively evaluated these steps.
