When the people's rights are violated and their voices are not heard, of course the turnout will be dissatisfaction. We are losing social support day by day due to rising prices, attitude towards girls and women, restriction of internet.
Axar.az reports that the Azerbaijani candidate for the presidency of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, said these words in a televised debate with another candidate, Said Jalili.
He also drew attention to the unfair treatment of non-Persians and non-Shiites:
"This causes citizens to distrust the government."
Pezeshkian also said that people who are not members of the ruling groups are suppressed, they are not allowed to hold any position.
In addition, the Azerbaijani candidate touched on the general protests of 2022 and condemned the attitude and repression of the protesters:
"It justifies those who are with us to go to the streets and hold a rally, and we call it illegal for those who oppose us to express their dissatisfaction, we detain them and send them to prisons."
At the end of his speech, Masoud Pezeshkian accused many people represented in the ruling system of turning the country into a cage, closing all the doors and not being able to establish normal relations with the world.
