Today is the day of silence before the second round of presidential elections in Iran.
Axar.az reports that in the second round of the elections to be held tomorrow, two candidates - Azerbaijani, former health minister Masoud Pezeshkian and Said Jalili - will fight for the presidency.
Masoud Pezeshkian got 42.5% of the votes in the first round, and Saeed Jalili, the Iranian leader's representative in the Supreme National Security Council, got 38.6% of the votes. Voter turnout was 40 percent.
According to the results of the poll conducted by Iran's "Shenaakht" analytical center on the eve of the second round, 52 percent of the respondents are going to vote for Pezeshkian, and 48 percent for Jalili. 42% of the respondents expressed their desire to participate in the voting.
The results are expected to be announced on July 6.
