Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Azerbaijan on July 6 was cancelled.

It was reported that Merih Demiral, the player of the Turkish national team, showed the "Greywolf" sign with his hand after scoring a goal in the Turkiye-Austria match in the 1/8 final stage of the "EURO-2024" football championship. After that, UEFA started an investigation on the player of the Turkish national team.
It was noted that after this incident, Erdogan will visit Germany and watch the game from the stadium in order to support the national team.
"In order to support the national team and show that he is with them, President Erdogan has decided to cancel the meeting of the Organization of Turkic States to be held in Azerbaijan on July 6 and go to Germany. Erdogan will watch the Turkiye-Netherlands match from the stadium."
It should be recalled that the President of Turkiye was planning to come to Azerbaijan to participate in the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States to be held in Shusha.
