The fact that Toivo Klaar, the former special representative of the European Union for the South Caucasus, who was appointed as the EU ambassador to Uzbekistan, made such biased statements on the eve of leaving office, without referring to his powers, is, first of all, another blow to the reputation of the institution represented by the European Union (EU) official.

Axar.az reports that the Deputy Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Vasif Aliyev said this in response to the media's question about some allegations made by the former EU special representative for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar regarding Azerbaijan.

According to him, it is unacceptable for Toivo Klaar to consider the issue of the return of Armenians who voluntarily migrated from the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan to Armenia and other countries where they previously lived as a special case, and to stipulate the right of return of Azerbaijanis forcibly expelled from the territory of current Armenia.

The official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that it is Armenia's obligation to create appropriate conditions for the safe and dignified return of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia to their native lands, and the international community should demand the fulfillment of this obligation:

"Despite the fact that the Azerbaijani side has repeatedly appealed for the Armenian residents to stay in their homes and for them to return, it is well known to Toivo Klaar, appointed ambassador, that the Armenians do not intend to return to the sovereign territories of Azerbaijan. In this regard, the Azerbaijani side only allows persons of Armenian origin who respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country to Azerbaijan. respects his intention to return".
