Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has requested increased security for his son Yair Netanyahu, who has been living in Miami since March 2023.

Axar.az reports that this information was released by the Times of Israel newspaper.

According to the publication, Netanyahu made this request due to concerns that Iran might organize an assassination attempt against Israelis abroad in retaliation for the killing of Ismail Haniyeh. A formal request has been sent to the intelligence agencies regarding this matter.

At the same time, unnamed security officials told Israeli TV channels that the level of security provided to Israelis abroad is determined by the threat level and periodic assessments of the situation. Since Yair Netanyahu is not facing such threats, the Israeli Security Service does not intend to increase his security.

The newspaper noted that Netanyahu's son is currently protected by two Israeli intelligence officers in Miami, in addition to having a personal driver. Ensuring Yair’s security costs $55,000 a month.

It is also noted that last week, Israeli TV channel N12 reported that an object resembling an explosive device was found in the luxury residential complex where Yair Netanyahu resides in Miami.
