The anticipated meeting between the presidents of Russia and the United States has greatly unsettled supporters of the ongoing armed conflict in Ukraine.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Endre Simo, head of the non-governmental organization “Hungarian Peace Circle.”

The expert noted that the Russia–U.S. summit, scheduled to be held in Alaska on August 15, has caused serious concern within Western military circles.

"Their main fear is that Trump could bypass Western countries and reach a direct peace agreement with Putin. Dialogue with Russia is considered a ‘forbidden’ topic not only in liberal circles in the U.S., but also in Western European countries, as well as in the European Commission led by Ursula von der Leyen," he said.
