Georgia bans LGBT: New law enacted

The package of draft laws prohibiting LGBT propaganda in Georgia was adopted in the second reading.

Axar.az reports that the meeting was broadcast live on the legislative body's website.

81 votes adopted the package of draft laws.

According to the new draft law, same-sex marriage, medical procedures for sex reassignment, adoption of children by non-heterosexual persons, and promotion of LGBT in educational institutions and media are prohibited.

Individuals 1.5 thousand lari (about $532), legal entities 4 thousand lari (more than $1.4 thousand) for LGBT propaganda in educational institutions, natural persons 800 lari (about $284), the legal entity will be fined 2.5 thousand lari (about 886 dollars).
