EU calls for emergency UN security council meeting

The member states of the European Union demand the urgent convening of the meeting of the UN Security Council regarding the situation in Lebanon.

Axar.az informs that the chief diplomat of the EU Jozep Borrell said this.

"Member countries are also calling for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council, and we will make all diplomatic efforts to achieve a ceasefire," he said.

According to Borrell, the foreign ministers expressed their extreme concern about the situation in Lebanon and stressed that any intervention would make the situation worse.

"Any military intervention will drastically worsen the situation and it should be avoided."

It should be noted that Iran also demanded an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council regarding Lebanon.
