As the leaders of China and North Korea celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, they have pledged to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by Reuters, citing a statement from Pyongyang.

"Highlighting the great importance of relations between China and North Korea, Xi Jinping noted that Beijing is ready to write a new chapter in its relations with its neighbor. In turn, Kim Jong Un promised to make unwavering efforts to develop cooperation with China as required by the new era," the report states.

It is noted that North Korea has begun to fundamentally reassess its relationship with South Korea:

"This raises certain concerns. North Korea is expected to revise its constitution to eliminate the goal of peaceful reunification with South Korea. Additionally, there are plans to redefine the status of the border between the two Koreas. Pyongyang will convene a parliamentary session on Monday to discuss these amendments. All of this could lead to an increase in tensions on the peninsula."
