On October 12, the Russian Su-34 fighter jet that was lost may have been shot down by an F-16.

Axar.az reports that this information was provided by the U.S. Institute for the Study of War.

It was noted that one of the well-known Russian military correspondents stated that the crash of the fighter was not related to Ukrainian activity but was due to a technical malfunction or pilot error.

"However, officers from the Airborne Forces and members of Russia's 'Dnepr' group confirmed through their Telegram channel that the Su-34 was shot down by an F-16. The channel reported that the Su-34 was hit while dropping FAB bombs 50 kilometers from the front."
