The results of the referendum in Moldova regarding its potential membership in the European Union have changed.

Axar.az reports that after counting 98.33% of the ballots, the Central Electoral Commission announced that 50.03% voted "yes" for EU membership, while 49.97% voted "no."

The slight difference of just 756 votes maintains the possibility of the results changing.

It’s noteworthy that after counting 54% of the ballots, opponents of EU membership led with 55% over supporters.

Additionally, it's important to mention that presidential elections were held alongside the referendum in Moldova. Current President Maia Sandu is leading with 41.84% of the votes after counting 97.8%, while her main rival, former prosecutor Alexandr Stoyanoglo, has garnered 26.35% of the votes.
