The United States and Qatar have signed an agreement worth $1.2 trillion. The agreement was reached during a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in a statement released by the White House.

“Today, US President Donald Trump signed an agreement with Qatar covering an economic turnover of at least $1.2 trillion. President Trump also announced that economic agreements worth a total of more than $243.5 billion have been reached between the United States and Qatar. These agreements include a historic agreement to purchase Boeing aircraft and GE Aerospace engines for Qatar Airways,” the statement said.

Under the agreement, Qatar Airways will purchase 210 modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 777X passenger aircraft worth $96 billion.

Trump, after signing the agreement, said that it involves the purchase of more than 160 aircraft worth $200 billion.

In addition, Qatar will purchase 8 MQ-9B unmanned aerial vehicles from the US company General Atomics for $2 billion, as well as anti-drone equipment from the American corporation Raytheon for $1 billion.

The US and Qatar have agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations in the military field and to invest more than $38 billion in potential investments. Part of this money will be directed to the Al-Udeid air base, the largest US military base in the Middle East.
