The Italian parliamentary delegation visited the Milli Majlis.
Axar.az reports that members of the Milli Majlis Committee on Natural Resources, Energy, and Ecology met with the parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Italy, which is on a visit to our country.
The chairman of the Committee on Natural Resources, Energy, and Ecology, Sadig Qurbanov, greeted the guests and highly appreciated their participation in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) held in Baku. He noted that the relations between our countries are currently at a high level and spoke about the important role of the heads of state of both countries in the development of the Azerbaijan-Italy partnership, emphasizing that strengthening cooperation is in the interest of both countries.
The committee chairman mentioned the holding of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Baku and highlighted Azerbaijan's sensitivity to environmental issues, providing the guests with information about the green energy and green technology projects carried out in the country. He also spoke about Azerbaijan's intentions to supply green energy to Europe.
Mauro Rotelli, the chairman of the Ecology Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Republic, thanked for the warm reception, expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for the high-level organization of such a prestigious event as COP29, and noted that the outcomes of the event would be beneficial for everyone.
Then, Fatma Yıldırım, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Natural Resources, Energy, and Ecology, committee members Eyvaz Qurbanov, Asif Asgarov, and Italian Senate member Nikola Irto, and member of the Chamber of Deputies Marco Simiani shared their thoughts on the development of bilateral and inter-parliamentary relations between our countries.
The meeting continued with discussions on parliamentary cooperation in areas such as combating climate change and transitioning to green energy.
