France plans to use proceeds from frozen Russian assets to supply Ukraine with surface-to-air missile systems and other weapons.

Axar.az reports that French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu made this statement following talks with the defense ministers of Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Poland.

"French taxpayers will be pleased to know that we are finding new ways to finance our support for Ukraine. In the coming weeks, we will take action in this direction, especially by using proceeds from Russia's frozen assets to supply Ukraine with 'Mistral' air defense missiles and other weapons, in cooperation with Italy," he said.

He also noted that France would continue training Ukrainian soldiers and is preparing to increase its training capacities:

"Recently, 2,300 soldiers from Ukraine’s 'Anna Kievskaya' brigade, who trained at the Champagne training bases, have been sent to Ukraine."
