Putin: Russia is open to ties, but not at its expense

Russia is ready to normalize relations with the United States and other Western countries, but not to the detriment of Russia's interests.

Axar.az reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin said these words in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.

"If there is a desire, everything can be done. We have never lost this desire," Putin said while answering the question about the possibility of establishing Russia-US relations.

According to him, everything changes in international relations, only interests remain unchanged - in this case, the interests of Russia and its people:

"If we see that the situation has changed in such a way that there are opportunities and perspectives to establish relations with other countries, we are ready for it. The question is not about us, but about them. But not to the detriment of the interests of the Russian Federation."
