The negotiations held between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul in 2022 prove that resolving the conflict is not impossible.

Axar.az reports that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán made this statement.

He noted that in April 2022, Russia and Ukraine reached a preliminary agreement during talks in Istanbul, but it was thwarted due to pressure from certain Western countries:

"The agreements were documented on paper, and the deal was just hours away from being finalized."

He added that he does not understand why the West took such steps.
