More than 6,500 polling stations have been opened in the country and abroad to vote in the second round of the presidential elections in Croatia, which will last from 07:00 local time (10:00 Baku time) to 19:00 (22:00).

Axar.az informs that the State Election Commission of Croatia has released information about this.

It was noted that 3 million 769 thousand 598 voters have the right to vote in the elections. 251,170 of them will be able to vote abroad. 6755 polling stations will be open for those who want to vote.

Citizens of the country will have to vote for one of the two candidates who will go to the second round. The candidates for the post of the head of state for a five-year term are the current president Zoran Milanovic, who took the first and second places in the previous round, and Dragan Primorak, a doctor, scientist, former minister of science, education, and sports.

It should be noted that in the first round held on December 29, 2024, none of the 8 candidates for the post of the President of Croatia could collect more than 50% of the votes. Milanovic and Primorak received 49.09% and 19.35% respectively. In the second round, the winner will be chosen based on the relative majority of votes. That is, it will be the candidate who gets more votes than his opponent.

Zoran Milanovic still has a significant lead over Dragan Primorac, according to IPSOS agency research commissioned by Croatia's Nova TV.
