Erdogan: Grain corridor issue remains unresolved

No matter how hard we tried, we couldn’t resolve the grain corridor issue.

Axar.az reports that this statement was made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

“Africa and the entire region requested grain, but we couldn’t deliver the required amount. We got stuck at 30 million tons of grain. When I met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he said they were ready to provide grain, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reiterated the same. However, when we said, 'Deliver it,' unfortunately, we couldn’t receive it. Putin especially emphasized that he is not in favor of grain being transferred to the European Union through the grain corridor. He expressed his preference for providing grain to poor countries,” Erdogan noted.

He added that negotiations on this matter are ongoing.
