US Defense Department employees accessed DeepSeek, a Chinese AI chatbot, on work computers for at least two days before the Pentagon blocked access due to security concerns.

Axar.az reports that the chatbot stores user data on Chinese servers, raising fears of potential misuse. Despite the Pentagon's ban, some personnel could still access DeepSeek.

Military branches are responding differently, with the Navy prohibiting its use and the Air Force and Army issuing general AI-related security guidelines. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to remove China-origin AI code from military systems. Some officials are considering policies to explicitly ban Chinese AI models.
