I am concerned about the deterioration of relations between Russia and Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that this was said by the head of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov.

"We are watching what is happening with excitement and pain. Difficulties have arisen in relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, but I am sure that everything will be resolved peacefully, with respect for the interests of the people and common history. Do not succumb to provocations, do not succumb to nationalism. All these are attempts to sow discord. We have already proven several times that our unity is stronger than attempts to divide us.

All difficulties are temporary, but brotherhood and dignity remain with us forever. In multinational Dagestan, Azerbaijanis are the Indigenous people, and the connection between the regions is much deeper than geography: kinship, culture, and coexistence," he said.
