Slovakia and the European Commission (EC) are working on the organization of gas supplies from Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that this was announced by the country's Prime Minister Robert Fitzo Fitzo said in a video message recorded after the informal EU summit in Brussels and published on Facebook.

"Together with the European Commission we are working on an alternative - import of gas from Azerbaijan to Slovakia, which, on the one hand, would provide good, high-quality and safe gas supplies for our country while ensuring domestic consumption. Along with this, gas transit could be gradually restored," he said.

At the same time, Fitzo hopes that the negotiation process will "bring good news" soon.
