Iran can close the Strait of Hormuz if necessary.

Axar.az reports that these words were said by the commander of the IRGC Navy, Alireza Tangsiri.

“We can close the Strait of Hormuz by resorting to military force. But we will not do this while we are using the strait now,” Tangsiri noted.

Tangsiri stressed that the US will never be able to achieve its goal of stopping Iranian oil exports.

He recalled the commissioning of the Shahid Bakeri UAV and helicopter carrier in the IRGC Navy. According to him, the ship can also launch missiles with a range of up to 1,000 kilometers.

Tangsiri explained that thanks to its missile weapons, the ship can defend itself. He added that the ship can carry five helicopters in hangars and four large helicopters on deck.
