Two explosions occurred consecutively on the "Seajewel" oil tanker, which was docked in Savona, Italy.

Axar.az reports that this information was provided by the publication "Fatto Quatidiano."

According to the report, the explosions happened on February 14, as the tanker, flying the Maltese flag, began to unload its oil.

It was noted that while the tanker sustained serious damage, no oil spill was recorded in the sea. There were no injuries among the crew members.

The Savona city prosecutor’s office has begun investigating various possibilities, including the tanker malfunctioning, colliding, or an explosion due to munitions.

The publication IVG states that the nature of the hole caused by the explosion suggests the possibility of explosive devices being placed on the ship.

According to Ukrainskaya Pravda, the Seajewel tanker has transported Russian oil multiple times. In 2024, it was loaded with oil three times in Russia.
