US Vice President JD Vance has criticized the absence of elections in Ukraine during martial law, calling the refusal to hold them amidst the war "preposterous".

Axar.az reports that he stated this during an interview with National Pulse.

“The idea that you cannot have elections in the midst of a war is, I think, kind of a preposterous idea. And the President has made very clear that he thinks that should happen. So, you know, that is, that is American policy. And I think it’s. It’s pretty simple and straightforward,” he noted.

Notably, President Trump has called Zelensky a dictator and accused him of refusing to hold elections.
