The Socialist Party of Moldova will demand the resignation of the head of state Maia Sandu and the holding of early presidential elections this year.

Axar.az reports that the country's former president and leader of the opposition Socialist Party, Igor Dodon, made a statement about this.

"We demand the resignation of Maia Sandu. Our political goal is to ensure the holding of early presidential and parliamentary elections this year," Dodon said during a mass protest in front of the presidential administration.

He called on the opposition to unite so that there is no injustice in the parliamentary elections:

"We see what is happening in Ukraine. We see what is happening in Romania. There will be changes there too. All the "Sorosists" in these countries, including those in Brussels, will be gone soon. Maya Sandu had support in America, she had friends in Europe, Romania, in Ukraine. She no longer has supporters in America, and there is no help from Romania. And in Ukraine, everything will end soon. And in Brussels, there are a few bureaucrats left. Therefore, Maya Sandu should understand that her time is up and it would be better if she left power normally."

Recall that the current head of state of Moldova, Maya Sandu, won the second round of the presidential elections in November last year, beating her opponent Alexander Stoyanov.
