Germany also wants to acquire Ukraine's rare earth metals.

Axar.az reports that German political scientist Harley Schlanger said this in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper.

"Friedrich Merz, who was elected Chancellor of Germany from the Christian Democratic Union, is also trying to secure access to Ukraine's natural resources. He will try to purchase some of the raw materials from Ukraine and sign a contract," the political scientist said.

According to H. Schlanger, the new Chancellor will compete with US President Donald Trump in this matter.

It should be noted that the Christian Democratic Union (CDU/CSU) won the elections in Germany.
