Russian and U.S. Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump discussed the possible cessation of military aid to Kyiv in yesterday’s conversation.
Axar.az reports this was stated Russian President’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.
"Putin and Trump held a phone call during which they discussed the 30-day ceasefire in the Ukrainian conflict, conditions to prevent escalation, and a number of international topics. The Russian leader agreed to Trump’s proposal for both sides of the conflict in Ukraine to refrain from striking energy infrastructure targets.
Russian and U.S. Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump did not discuss the topic of deploying peacekeeping forces in Ukraine. Moscow and Washington will agree on the exact dates for the next contacts and the composition of the negotiators today and tomorrow," he noted.
He also said Kremlin views Ukrainian army’s attacks against power installations in the Kuban region as sabotage of agreements.
"Putin has not revoked the order to stop firing at Ukraine’s energy infrastructure despite Kyiv’s provocations: 'There were no other orders from the president.'," he stated.
He added that elections and the change of power in Ukraine were not discussed during the phone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump.
"I can say with great confidence that Presidents Putin and Trump understand each other well, trust each other, and are committed to gradually moving toward the normalization of Russian-American relations," he said.
